Dave Lapio is a steel drum (steel pan) musician who blends jazz, classical, calypso, soca, and Caribbean styles. A Connecticut native who relocated to Florida in 1991 to pursue music full-time, he studied under Ellie Mannette, the father of the modern steel drum, and has performed with Andy Narell, Robert Greenidge, and Ken "Professor" Philmore. His albums include Steel In The Groove (1996), Cover This! (1998), and David Lapio-Uncovered!
