The Story

After graduating from Appalachian State University, Paul moved to Nashville to see if he could hang with the big dogs. several other ASU/NC friends moved there as well and they created a performing group of writers calling themselves the Carolina CO-Op. this group included Jon Mabe, Mark Bumgarner, Mark W. Winchester, Milan Miller & Buddy Melton. Bum, Jon & TP wrote High Wire about a guy following a path set out in front of him and not veering despite the obstacles looming ahead. truth in songwriting. it also gave TP the title of his second album “Fast Beneath my Feet"

Lyrics

Well my hands are shakin’…and my knees are weak This old world keeps on turning…fast beneath my feet So I’d best keep my balance…or I’ll be hangin by this thread Can’t afford no distractions…from what lies up ahead (chorus) I walk… a high wire I keep steady and don’t look down I walk a high wire (2nd verse) So you ask how I do it… first I take a deep breath put it all on the line…when I take that first step from there you’ve got to keep going Cause there’s no turning back there’s no net below you…try not to think about that (bridge) I know the wind is gonna change But that’s gonna bother me I’ll keep my head held straight and my eyes out in front of me Chorus
